Next Friday will be the first Friday of the month of February. Services will be as usual at this parish. The English Novena will start at 5.30 pm followed by Holy Mass.

Sunday School for all three mediums will commence on the 15th of January 2023.

Community Kitchen – will commence from today onwards each Sunday. We thank you for the generosity and assistance given thus far and look forward to your continued support this year.

Education Program – we have so far given out 85 School Packs to deserving children, we have 15 packs left to give and then we will start on the second set of children. Thank you again for your generous support.

Epiphany Blessing of Chalk – it has been a tradition in the Catholic Church to bless chalk at the Masses for Epiphany, and then use the blessed chalk as part of the blessing one’s house for the New Year. The home blessing can be done as follows: 20+C+M+B+XX above the doorways.

National Day of Prayer for Sri Lanka – a silent 30 minute protest will be held outside our church premises after the Sinhala Mass (9.30 am). Faithful are encouraged to pray the Holy Rosary in their homes for our country.

Today is the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year, and we conclude Year C.

We encourage families to light the Advent Candle in their homes. These are available at the Rosary Stall. There is also a Small Advent Prayer Booklet which is being sold. Please do purchase a copy for your families to pray during this Advent Season.

A ‘Revival Experience of Parenthood’ organized by the Family Life Apostolate of the Colombo South Deanery. It will be a half-day program at St. Lawrence’s Church, Wellawatta conducted by Fr. Michael Payyapilly of the Divine Retreat Center. The session will start at 9am and end by 12 noon followed by Adoration and Holy Mass.

First Friday of the Month – there will be the Novena to the Sacred Heart as usual and Confessions will be heard by a Visiting Priest from 6-8 pm.

Sisters of the Epitamulla Convent, Pitakotte will be selling Orchids and bags of Vegetables in their efforts to help the less privileged families of the Irabadagama Convent (Kurunegala district).

The women of these families have been given employment to grow and cultivate these orchids and vegetables and they are now selling these to raise funds to continue this project.
