Our only hope for a better Sri Lanka, lies in the hands of our children. Children who are deprived today of their basic needs, such as food and education. The International Declaration on the Rights of Children, articulates, that all of us people owe children the right to basic sustenance and education, among other things. Sacred Heart Church Rajagiriya through its ‘Joyful Hearts’ programme launched a nutrition drive earlier this year and now our Sunday School children enjoy a nutritional meal.

 

The ‘Joyful Hearts’ programme has now set its eyes on supporting these children with their educational needs. We have a moral obligation and a sacred duty to ensure that the Rights of Children are sustained and not disregarded irresponsibly.
